Compare 4 TPO Roofing Options
TPO has many installation options such as fully adhered, mechanically attached, Invisiweld™, and ballasted. Manufacturer and Qt installment warranties are available for new construction roofing and replacement roofing!
Fully Adhered
When TPO is fully adhered, this means the roofing material is bonded to the surface beneath it. The adhesive is applied to the membrane and surface below. It is then carefully rolled into position and set into place.
Ideal for Unusual or Odd-Shaped Contours: TPO contains a form-fitting membrane with a bonding adhesive. We can place the membrane in any position regardless of the shape of your roof.
High Wind Rating: Fully adhered TPO roofing has a Class 4 rating for hail and high-impact winds.
Reduced Maintenance Cost: The only required maintenance for TPO roofing is a seam inspection and reseal every five to seven years.
No Membrane Fluttering: We fasten TPO membranes with either adhesive or mechanical fasteners to eliminate membrane fluttering.
Lightweight: On average, a roll of TPO weighs approximately 300 pounds. The material is light compared to other types of roofing material.
Mechanically Attached
When the roofing system is mechanically attached, this means the material is attached with mechanical fasteners. The membrane is laid, and the fasteners are secured directly to the surface beneath.
Higher Seam Strength: The seam is the strongest component of a mechanically-attached roofing system.
Faster Installation: By fastening the membrane to the roof, we can speed up the process of the installation without using adhesives.
Year-Round Installation: Since we don’t utilize adhesive for the roof, we can install the membrane year-round. We can install mechanically-attached roofing all year long because adhesive roofing can only be applied in certain temperatures.
Lightweight: The roofing material is easy to transport, carry, and lay over a roofing system. We simply need to attach it with fasteners.
Ballasted
This application is used when the building structure and decking have been designed to hold the weight of a roof’s ballast. The membrane and insulation are loose-laid and fastened at the perimeter with smooth, water-worn rocks applied to the top.
Durable & Long Lasting: A typical commercial roof with a ballast will last 25 to 30 years.
Fast Installation: We can ballast an entire membrane in a 24-hour period by simply laying the membrane on the roof and then adding a layer of gravel to secure it.
Superior Weather Resistance: A ballasted roofing system can withstand torrential downpours, high winds, and severe weather because the gravel keeps the roof in place in the most severe weather conditions.
Economical: With an additional layer of gravel over the membrane, your roof is well-insulated from the heat during the summertime.
Invisiweld™
This patented mechanically attached system uses an electromagnetic pulse to produce a weld between the plate and the bottom of the membrane.
High Wind Rating: With Invisiweld™ fasteners, the roofing membrane can withstand winds of up to 90 mph.
Quick & Easy Install: Depending on the size of your roof, we can typically fasten the roofing system in one setting.
No Membrane Penetration: By welding the plates to the membrane, we don’t have to penetrate the material. A membrane with no holes will last longer.
Reduced Material Costs: Invisiweld™ roofing fasteners require fewer materials and less equipment. It’s easy to fasten to your commercial roof.
Year-Round Installation: We can install Invisiweld™ all year long, regardless of the temperature or climate outside, without the need for adhesive.
