Multi-Family Housing
In the ever-growing Twin Cities metro area, multi-family housing has never been more prevalent. As people continue to move into apartment buildings and condominiums, property owners and managers must ensure a safe and comfortable place to live by keeping dwellings maintained. This includes having proper roofing installed on all residential buildings.
Roofing Types
Flat roofs are especially common for apartment buildings and condominiums. Our roofers are ready to analyze your roof and help you sort through the various flat roofing options: EPDM, TPO, BUR and PVC
Shingles are a great option for multi-family housing roofs that are low or steep sloped, not necessarily for flat roofs. We have the capability to install shingles made from a variety of materials based on your preferences.
Metal roofing is ideal for steep slope roofs but works in some flat roof applications. Whether your multi-family housing property has low or steep sloped roofs, metal is an economical option that is also attractive.
For years, Qt has provided successful roofing construction, repair, and replacement for multi-housing communities. We have worked on many large projects in the Twin Cities area, such as replacement roofing for Summit Shores in Burnsville, Minnesota, or new construction roofing for The Graves in Uptown.
IndustriaL
Most industrial buildings are characterized by the large interior area required for manufacturing. The roofs of industrial buildings are often built using various flat roofing installation systems because of the large surface area.
There is also typically equipment located on the roof deck, meaning flat roofs are more practical. The reason behind this is there are often large amounts of heat coming from inside the building, both caused by machinery and the industrial tenants. And this heat needs somewhere to be expelled upwards through the roof.
Roofing Types
Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) is a widely used roofing material for flat roofs, and is known for its durability and ease of installation. The extremely durable, high-performance compounds stand up well to the harshest snowy winters and scorching hot summers of Minnesota.
Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) is a single-ply roof membrane constructed from durable ethylene-propylene rubber. The material is highly resistant to tears, impacts, and punctures. This means that your building can flex without concern for rips and tears.
These roofing systems are also sometimes referred to as “tar and gravel” or “asphalt and gravel” roofs. Over time, built-up roofs have been proven to be one of the most durable and cost-effective roofing options for low-pitch roofs.
The downside of such a large roof surface area is that it’s much more difficult to spot leaks when they occur. Whether you require repairs on an older industrial building or need a full flat roof installation on a new building, Qt has the capabilities to perform industrial roof repairs or full flat roof installations.
Office and ReTAIL buildings
Whether you’re in need of roofing for a strip mall, office building, shopping center, mixed-use facility, restaurant, or superstore, Qt offers professional commercial roofing services for both new office and retail projects.

Flat roofs are common for the majority of offices and retail locations due to their typical large sizes. Whether you choose to have your roof installed with EPDM or TPO, or if you want it to be built-up, our professional roofers have you covered.
